Mission Mali Brand Creation

We worked with Mission Mali to build a simple yet recognizable brand for their start-up non-profit.

Business Intelligence Brand Creation

Mackrill Media conducted brand discovery and creation to build a brand to positions this company well within their niche and industry.

Community Bible Church (cbcomaha.org)

Mackrill Media had the recent privilege to redesign the Community Bible Church website (http://www.cbcomaha.org). The previous website had been in place since 2007 and was not user friendly or representative for Community Bible Church’s people, culture, and website needs. We were able to provide a simple but robust website that represents the people, ministries, and need-to-know facets of CBC.

Our statement of work is as follows:

  • Integrate quality photography is that is anything but stock. All pictures on the website are actually from the church property and of the people who are part of the church family.
  • Blend the brand of the church with the new vision. We were able to modernize the existent brand with the new church vision in order to provide a simple and clean logo that presents what the church is all about.
  • Provide an easy platform for blogging. Nearly every church website sees a large amount of traffic in areas where there are blogs. Why? Website visitors (church members to outsiders) are interested in who the leadership is and what they have to say. With this we were able to rest the site on a quality, easy to use platform.
  • Help  the church family be more informed and connected. Often we found that the news on the website was out of date for a number of reasons. A) It was difficult to place on the site in the first place. B) It was difficult for viewers to get to, so it took lesser importance on the website. With this in mind, we sought to provide news information in an easy to access manner that doesn’t at the same time make the site completely news driven.
  • Social Media Integration. Every news update from CBCOmaha.org now flows directly to social media (Facebook & Twitter) within a half hour of being published. This results in better read rates, keeps the church family more informed and meets readers where they are.
  • Represent the vision of Community Bible Church. The vision of CBC is for “every member to share Christ lovingly at every opportunity.” We love this vision and sought to tie it tightly to the fabric of the site by integrating it with the pre-exiting church logo.
  • Provide helpful information to those that are not familiar with Community Bible Church. When a visitor now connects to the front page of the website, they are now able to get easy to find information about service times and parking and can then dig deeper to set their expectations.
  • Newsletter integration. Monthly email blasts had served to inform the church family for years. However, it was always a chore to update the list to ensure that everyone is receiving our email correspondence. With this we were able to build an integration between the existing MailChimp database and the new website. You can now enter your email address and be automatically included in any future email’s.
  • Move monthly newsletters from PDF’s to a web based platform. By leveraging the new website, the church staff now has the ability to enter news updates, stories, and announcements and then send much more concise emails that will point the reader to the website. The major advantages to this are: 1. Enhanced Analytics (how often is each story read, number of reads, etc.) 2. Elimination of the time consuming process of creating a PDF newsletter.
  • Provide a look fitting with the church. One of our objectives was to design in a manner than actually fit with the church itself – so you can get a much better glimpse of the church by viewing the website than with most church website experiences. With this we chose colors actually used in the church building and sought to maximize rich photography to capture as much as we could of the actual experience.
  • To better provide sermon information. We sought to support the existent platform for hosting sermons while improving the overall user experience and ability to maintain the content. We leveraged cloud storage technology that will allow the most novice person to post a sermon and then publish it to the website within a matter of a few minutes.

  • 2010 Election Web Design

Recently, Mackrill Media had the opportunity to provide a website for Jim Nash’s campaign for Mayor of the Minneapolis suburb of Waconia. A number of different items attributed to our design concept.

    1. Jim has invested a number of years in this community through multiple forms of service and involvement ranging from local business to city council. This needed to be displayed in text, picture, and overall theme.

    2. Our client is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys taking part in local recreation around the Waconia area who is situated next to a wonderful Minnesota lake.

    3. Jim’s family is involved in local events through their school, church, and community so we wanted to reflect that connection to the core of what Waconia is all about.

    4. We want to make the presentation clear, informative, unpretentious, and fitting to the local area. Our goal was that through your user experience you will gain a firmer knowledge of who Jim is, what his vision is, and how you can better support his campaign.

In reviewing other sites that have been used for political and specifically mayoral campaigns, many were confusing, cookie cutter, distracting, and/or out of touch with the actual community. We sought to buck that trend with Jim’s site.

Our end product was an outdoors-esque site that features a good number of photos with information that will give you a good understanding of what Jim Nash is all about and how he can make a difference for the community. With a Fall election, we sought to incorporate color schemes that fit with an autumn look as well as the local season of blue to identify with local water bodies. We were also able to integrate Jim’s campaign calendar, Paypal donation funcationality, and his Facebook page to provide a clear springboard for his campaign’s full electronic presence.
